Mission one: Map 1OOC: Alright, firstly feel free to spend as much time on the ship as you guys want before proceeding. As you'll notice, there is a hyperlink above this text. This is our current Map. I'll keep it updated from post to post. I know it shows each of you outside of the ship, but I know you guys are actually inside until you choose to be otherwise. Once you leave the ship we'll enter a semi-structured posting format. Feel free to explain whatever it is that your character is doing, and then add the rolls to the end of the post as usual if you need any information. If you're unsure if you need to roll, just post without one and I'll request that you go back and add a roll. No big deal.
Now, the biggest change is how far you guys can move. Each square on the map is 2 meters by 2 meters, and for most of you your base speed is 10m...so doing the math...that means you can typically move 5 spaces in a turn. That being said, we are in semi-structured. So, consider how fast you think your character could move while reasonably accomplishing something and feel free to move as needed. Now, keep in mind...if at any time you RUSH ahead of everyone else and enter combat, if you're more than 10 spaces from your team, it might take a few turns for them to get to you and you'll be facing whatever you ran into alone. I'll let you know if you're moving too much. Finally, at the end of your post please give me the coordinate of your character so I can update the map for everyone to see. Keep in mind you can technically stand in the same space as someone else because the spaces are big enough.
One last note on the map. Until further notice, RED lines are closed doors. Let me know if something doesn't make sense and I'll explain!
So, to wrap up, please continue the posting rotation from your last posts on the ship, and have fun!

Ku looked to the rest of the party, "Well, shall we see how messed up this place really got?" and not trying to be bold, or show his timidness, opened the door and stared out into the desolate land around. No life...not such a good sign. Always better to have foliage around...
Ku stepped down the ramp, hoping that the others would follow him before he got himself into trouble, even though he was normally alone, he usually knew more about the situations he got himself into. He walked to the edge of the platform, but didn't want to step off at all, might be traps in the ground for all I know.

" I will be right behind you Ku. It looks stable but there does seem to be considerable damage to the external structure. I am sure there will be obstacles to over come once we are inside." Alyaza followed Ku onto the landing platform. Excitement pulsed through her nerves at the idea of getting to move about. She noticed Ku hesitating on the platform. It was quite unlike a Jedi to show signs of hesitation like that unless there was good reason. Perhaps he believes there might be traps. After all the Sith would probably leave some sort of trap to protect this area if it was so important to them.

And... there everyone goes, without our pilot. Dennurek paused before the door looking back for Dax. I prefer to wait for everyone to be gathered before we jump into the unknown. However, Ku and Alyaza have already started. Perhaps before we go further we can all agree on a game-plan before moving on further.
Dennurek opened the door and moved down the ramp onto the platform, adjusting his goggles as he looked around in front of him and the rest of the party.

Mission 1 : Map1-2The ship's ramp lowered with a hiss and a thump. The ramp landed on the only solid piece of the ground in the area, filling the air and your nose with dull gray dust. Before you lays what's left of the landing pad now mostly jagged edges of metal twisted at awkward angles. Some parts reach ankle height while others come waist high or higher. It would take careful footing to cross and not accidentally injure yourself. The pad is elevated above the rest of the building somewhat and narrows to a staircase which leads downward to a two story high, six foot wide metal door. The domed entry past the door is visible from from the landing pad. The area is still and void of vegetation. While you can't see anything, you feel uneasy. The door (K14) appears to be rusted, and tiny, ragged holes pock its surface. Some larger ones appear to traverse the entire width of the door, but you can't see where past the black the door ends. A smaller, person sized door is situated in the middle of the larger door. Through the haze you note a terminal. It houses a simple numerical keypad and small digital display (J15) OOC: Haha, nice rolling guys. Also, look! You did find dirt! Ok, to cross from the ship to the stairs please make a Dexterity roll (A d20 + your Dex mod). If you get a 12 you're safe. Otherwise make an additional 1d4 roll and take half that amount of vit damage (rounded down). You cut yourself as you make your way across

Well, not much here to see apparently... Ku sighed. He spied the data pad next to the door, well lets hope we can hack that.
He looked at his neighbors, noticing that Dax was still aboard the ship, must be locking up still, and said "Well, crew, lets take a leap of faith! Hopefully we'll have to door open by the time we all get there."
Dex h0OKxgBVp_1d20+3
Ku gracefully navigated the twisted girders, his long legs allowing him to miss most of the holes and lightly tread across the rest with a few careful leaps. "That seemed pretty easy guys!" He landed on the area in front of the door, waiting a second to see if anything moved, then moved up to the door, trying to see if there was anything special on or in it.

This looks like it could be tricky there is sharp debris all around. Best to take it slow. If i follow the path Ku took I should be fine...

Alyaza carefully maneuvered through the rubble. She was momentarily distracted when she looked back to see if Dennurek was coming, or if Dax had left the ship yet. She turned her attention back to the task at hand just in time to catch herself before stepping on a metal shard that stood a foot tall. That surely would have caused some damage, I need to stop being so reckless. Keep your mind sharp Alyaza!
Shaking off the close call, she made her way over to the datapad to see what Ku would find there.

Gray dust speckled Dennurek's snout as he surveyed the damaged landing pad. The twisted metal looked foreboding as it was the only way to the stairs and door that lay below. Time to try and not die.

OOC: So close...
As soon as Dennurek thought those thoughts, trying to navigate the treacherous metal seemed to feel like his death was imminent. Instead, as he maneuvered, it wasn't the waist high bits that were the trouble, it was a particular ankle high one that Dennurek tripped on as he was landing, cutting his lower right leg as he landed above the stairs.
"Dammit," he cursed to himself as he moved his leg to the side to examine the wound. "More than a scratch - enough to pause before moving on to take care of it."
Damage p_1d4 / 2 = 2
Dennurek walked the best he could toward Ku. As he approached he couldn't help but lick his lips embarrassingly, and coughed a bit as he tasted the awful gray dust.
"May I?" Dennurek asked Ku with a polite wave of his hand towards the door. "This is a specialty of mine."

OOC: ok, I asked Dylan to leave his computer check up as a teaching moment. First, you guys should read the skills if you're ever in doubt of what you can do with them. They don't tell you everything you can do, but they have a wide variety of things. Second, you don't need to make checks for something as simple as checking if the power is on, or entering a random code. Most anyone can do that.. so it doesn't take an ability check. To attempt to hack a computer or bypass its security does. Ku : The area around you is fairly empty. You note that the metal gives slightly under your weight. Something tickles at the back of your mind that you're just missing something. The display screen readily lights up at your touch, a single blinking cursor suggesting the entry of some sort of passcode. Dennurek: The area in front of the door appears relatively empty. The smaller door is clearly meant for people, wonder why the larger door surrounding it is in place. You note that the metal beneath your feet appears to have a bit of give. Other than the key entry panel there is not much else of note besides the small holes in the door. Somehow they don't appear natural. The edges are very ragged and the size doesn't correlate with a bombardment.

Ku looked at the door for a bit before the others came behind him, and cringed when Dennurek cut himself on the jagged metal and helped him as he reached this side. He considered helping him with the wound, but he never knew what was in the eyes of the Kubaz behind the goggles, and had noticed the constant licking while looking at him... He is here for a reason, should perhaps try to help him.
Ku crouched next to Dennurek "Here, let me look at that, I can try to heal that for the moment." Ku concentrated, calling on the force as best as he could to help another. "Alyaza, could you do us a favor and see if you can find anything by searching the area, Dennurek and I couldn't find anything, perhaps you'll be lucky."
Heal another oTEtGJsBp_1d20+2
While Ku was concentrating, the metal shifted slightly below his feet, throwing him off balance, he fell backwards, narrowly missing his head on a sharp girder and sprawling himself across the platform. He took a moment to recover before attempting to move, realizing what happened as he came out of his concentration and looked up to his companions standing over him, just looking at him. "I apparently directed the force in the wrong direction..." Ku chuckled nervously, but was horrendously embarrassed and scrambled back to his feet. Now they'll think I can't even use the force...what a blithering idiot.
OOC: I am shitty at helping apparently.
Mayhaps we could see if any of the holes go through a decent ways, I should use my glow rod. Ku walked to the door and pulled out his glow rod and held it up to some of the larger holes in the door, trying to peer through.

OOC: Another note, I will be posting "as needed" during the semi-structured posting style. So, you can post as frequently as you'd like and as it makes sense to, and I will do the same. This way if you're waiting on a DC result to continue posting you only have to wait for me to reply (And I will try to check several times daily to update when needed. I believe this is a good way to do this so that everyone can interact via dialogue and other things more naturally because it would make sense for the first person to notice something to say something about it before everyone tries to stare at the same thing. I hope this make sense, let me know if you're confused!Your glow rod helps, but not by much. You pick one of the larger holes that aren't finger sized. It appears to go back a least several inches, but you can't tell if it ends there or continues. Ku, while attempting to be benevolent, accidentally pulls upon the wrong thread through the force. Dannurek feels slightly more fatigued after Ku finishes. (OOC: Ku accidentally took away 1 vitality point. I have already updated your side profile - Dennurek)

"Oh Dennurek, I am incredibly sorry, I had the full intent of rejuvenating you, I realize I pulled from you" Ku sighed and tried hard to be apologetic. "Perhaps you would like have an attempt at this datapad before me? You seem knowledgeable about computers." Ku tried to be supportive, but felt incredibly guilty about failing his attempt at helping. "I'll look around, and you guys should try to see if you can find anything too."
While he was waiting, he attempted to see what was around the area again, really trying hard to find anything, inspecting every part of the platform for several minutes.
OOC: So I am attempting to take a 20 on my next spot check, to really see if there is anything actually around, this is going to take 2 minutes technically so feel free to do something while I'm walking around looking!
Spot check, taking a 20 + 2 = 22, skipping a couple of posts.

Watching Ku fail at healing Dennurek made Alyaza cringe. He ended up making things worse for him. It was a pitiful display of the force and a Jedi should know better. It didn't ease her nerves that Dennurek would gladly make a meal out of Ku if he could. She didn't know if she should admire his self restraint, for it must take a large amount of control to not lash out and eat Ku. Well I guess I should not wait to see if Dennurek loses that self control after the pain Ku just caused him. I should try healing him to the best of my abilities.
" Dennurek might I offer my healing capabilities? I hope that I can do a better job then our comrade. I will only proceed with your permission."

Dennurek stood very still as Ku healed him. The sensation was odd and seemed to not be healing, but doing the opposite, making him feel very tired physically. As soon as the metal shifted underneath Ku the pain surged again in Dennurek's leg and he cried out in pain loudly.
"How do you even do that sort of a thing?!" Dennurek questioned. Drawing his breath in and out, he calmed down from his flash of anger towards Ku. He was only attempting to help me, not kill me. Dennurek was glad his goggles hid his stare at Ku. Taking a few more deep breaths held Dennurek's composure again as he came back to a somewhat calm state.
Dennurek wasn't sure when Alyaza approached, and was uncertain if she had seen any of the exchange until her polite offer. I do not think she is going to try to kill me either, but I am hesitant. Yet, I won't be able to heal this myself.
"Thank you Alyaza. I would be gracious to accept your offer. I hope you will be able to succeed. It seems this mission is off to a rocky start."
Sighing inwardly, Dennurek stayed where he was so he didn't have to expend more energy. She seems to be confident in her abilities.
Before Alyaza approached, Dennurek addressed the party members so far: "Before you begin Alyaza, I did notice with the door that the small holes are odd, unnatural. Any idea what may have caused them? Ku, after Alyaza attends to me, thank you again by the way, I will see to the datapad."

Mission One : Map1-3Ku: Looking around, you happen to notice a camera near the upper part of the door, angled toward you. The camera is operating, its lens moving to focus. it appears to be newly installed, and clearly wasn't there before the bombardment. The holes in the door vary in size and are sporadic. Some are as large as your hand, others a small as a finger. All have ragged, nonuniform, edges. OOC: Also, you may post again (If I respond to your DC assume its ok for you to post again)
OOC: Even though technically (according the book) i'm not supposed to, Dennurek gains 1 vitality from Alyaza's healing. You may interpret this as "healing your leg" to stop the bleeding if you so wish. The RP is up to you . I've already made the vitality adjustment.

"Hey guys....someone's watching us..." Ku pointed up at the camera that was perched above the door, positioned so that it was looking right at them. "That is definitely newer than the structural damage of the door. This must mean someone's inside, we need to be careful about what we do. I don't think we should hop up and down trying to get their attention..." Ku sighed... I really hope it's not the Sith, that's just being assholes at this point. Let's hope they haven't gotten the data core...
"I'm going to see if I can disable it, watch my back."

This time, Dennurek felt positive as Alyaza healed him. The wound seemed to close enough that the bleeding stopped and the pain subsided to a dull ache as he stood standing. "Thank you Alyaza," he said, bowing slightly to her in gratitude. "How about we see to this datapad, shall we?"
Dennurek moved to the datapad and began to tinker with it to see what it had to offer them regarding the door, or the camera for that matter as well now.

Dennurek worked his magic with the display and the smaller door groaned. Slowly but surely it began to slide open. The vibrations, however, shook the entire platform proving just how weak the structure was around them. The ground distorted slightly, and the door itself (both the smaller one and the larger one it was embedded in) shook violently. Unfortunately, this caused Ku to lose his grip on the wall and he came tumbling down.
The door groaned for a moment more and then stopped moving. It had only opened a fraction, almost less than a foot. The door is a foot wide, and has sharp edges from the decay of the metal. Beyond is a dimly lit area, flecks of gray dust floating in the stale air. The door led down a hallway, presumably to the primary entry area for the building. It is clear you can't move the door anymore. If the apparatus that had moved it had given out, it was unlikely anyone else could budge the massive durasteel slab. However, the opening also isn't large enough to get through easily...
OOC: Ku, make a reflex save, DC 10, to land safely. If you fail, take 1 Vit dmg. If you're trained in escape artist, please make a check DC 12. If you're untrained in escape artist, make a Dexterity check DC 15. If you fail, you're unable to make it past the door. If you succeed you make it through the tiny opening to the hallway beyond.

Map 1-4The interior of the building is a bland gray color. Down the hallway, the structure opens up to a circular room, a glass dome far above. The gray dust floats gently, assaulting your senses with a metallic musk. As you walk, the dust that had settled billows up slightly around your feet, and leaves footprints behind you. The circular room appears to have been a reception area of sorts. Beams of light filter through the gloom to the floor. Looking up you notice several chunks of the dome have been destroyed, leaving this room somewhat open to the elements. The room its self is trashed. Many fallen girders lay haphazardly throughout and papers and other charred objects are scattered around the room. The only somewhat stable structure appears to be a rounded desk area which is built into the floor. Any computers or communication devices that may have been found at those desks have long since been destroyed. As you move further into the room, you notice the floor creaking and groaning under your weight. It seems odd that the durasteel floor should be damaged to this point of weakness. To the left of the circular room you note another hallway leading away from the reception area. The lights down the hallway flicker ominously. OOC: Just a quick note. In light of recent rolls (although this last round was a little better), I'm making some changes for the time being. Firstly, if you have a d20 (Not a spin down), you may roll your own at home and post to the forum. I'm trusting you guys here, so if it seems like you guys are getting rolls that are just too good, we'll have to switch back. Honor system! Just note in parenthesis before or after the roll that it was manual so I know why the die graphic isn't there.
Second, I'm taking away critical successes and failures. This is because of the number of natural ones we've gotten so far (and because we've gotten that many at low level). So, long story short...a natural 20 doesn't necessarily guarantee success and a natural one wont hurt you other than you failed at your attempt. Once we've gotten you guys to a bit of a higher level, we'll switch back...but right now its doing more harm than good. That being said, remember the ammo house rule. If you do roll a one on a blaster attack roll, you will still run out of ammo. GL guys!

Ku slid easily through the door, his tall thin body squirming through like a worm. Finally something I can do today! Ku thought triumphantly. He watched the dust rise as he made it to the other side of the door, and thought it strange that there was so much dust when there were holes in the ceiling, should have been some weather...
Ku motioned to the others who had come in, putting a finger to his mouth to say that they should be silent and then attempted to slide down the hallway to the desk that they could spy.

- Dax Closed out the ship to sleep mode. She head the door open. Okay guys looking around is a good idea...
--She enters the main area of the ship. Aaaaaannnd they left me behind. Thanks guys! Because exploring enemy territory without the whole party is a great idea
- Closes the ship via password. Fuck if I tell those fucks the password now. If I do they might fly off without me. assholes
Wow this landing pad is awful...man I am awesome to have landed this ship.
Dex Roll: 8+2= 10
And hop, hop, fuck! .........
Damage roll: 1 rounded down to 0 damage.
Nailed it!
"And here I am at the door! .....still alone!....these guys are the jerks..." Hopefully there aren't fuckton of Sith on the other side of the door.
Dex Roll: 2 + 2 = fail-town usa
Dax attempted the tight path through the door and promptly realized that her ass would not fit through that tiny hole. Unless I am willing to rip my pants right off, and I am not nearly drunk enough for that.
Dax looked around for alternate ways around the door. I could squeeze over the top...or maybe cut the door open further with my light saber. Dax thought it through, the latter would be easier but if someone actually is on the other side of the wall, Dax would run into problems.
Spot check to see if anyone is in the hallway: 18+ 2 = 20 ooc: Parker is in the room with me at the time and says that roll passed. moving on.
Dax noticed Alyaza standing on the other side of the door. .anndd the lightsaber is out....over it is!
Strength Check: 18 + 0 = 18
Dax slowly made her way over the high wall. Utilizing available hand and foot holds. hopefully this really fucked up terrain doesn't shift.
Dex Check to get down : 11 + 2 = 13
She reached the top without too much trouble. She looked down and examined her way down the other side. It seemed staggered but not impossible. There appeared to be several larger jolts of roof that Dax could probably land on with a jump. She began her decent with a small hop. She continued down till about ten feet off the ground where upon last landing the slat she was standing on slid forward, away from the door and into the domed room. Dax kept her footing before her slab stopped before forcing herself into a roll that managed to look intentional. She landed simply, between Dennurek and Ku Tan "Ta Da!" She was mindful enough to not scream the words, but couldn't claim any stealth to the act.

Map 1-5Ku: There isn't much to note in the wreckage of the room. On your way to the desk you find a credit chit worth 20 credits. As you move to the desk something glints with light beyond the second desk. Dennurek: Clearly the room has been trashed, and on first glance there isn't much to see. As you approach the desk you find a medpac buried in the wreckage. Looking around again, you notice something beyond the second desk. You can't tell what it is, but something about it doesn't seem as if it should be part of the building. Ku easily made it to the desk without much noise, and glanced around. There wasn't too much to see. The dome above them had clearly seen better days. It had taken extra effort to walk through some of the glass shards on the ground that had broken off from above. The reception area itself is now nonexistent besides the desks which have survived. Dennurek followed shortly after Ku, but his footsteps aren't as well placed. Glass crunches under his feet and a slight echo from his boots reverberates around the room. This however was nothing compared to the noise coming from Dax's "controlled descent". As Dennurek attempted to quietly follow Ku, scraping and creaking is heard above. Looking up, he can see Dax climbing down from the ceiling and landing directly in front of him, but behind Ku. The force of her landing causes a wave of dust to billow up around her and a large boom to echo around the room. OOC: Ku found some credits in the room. I still haven't quite decided how I'm going to do group funds, so for this mission ( and probably this mission only) and cash found will be shared in full by the party. This is because you're all still poor and could use some help =p. SO, Ku found 20 credits, and I'll be updating each of your side-profiles to reflect that.

Ku's nerves were stretched thin with Dennurek's noise, but the noise that happened after him scared the shit out of him. He grabbed his lightsaber and ignited it, spinning around into a defense position, but in the dim orange light of his blade, he notices that it is Dax, standing proudly after her roll. "Holy shit Dax! Where did you come from?" Ku stammered. He shut down his lightsaber and stowed it for the moment, hoping that she wouldn't bring unwanted attention. "What took you so long to join us, Dax?" Ku tried to make small conversation to make up for the fact that she had been absent, and her noise would have brought any enemies in the vicinity, so talking was probably okay.

Alyaza began to walk towards the desk where Ku and Dennurek were headed. She cringed slightly at all the noise that Dennurek was making as he went. Well I guess if there were any enemies in the immediate vicinity that would have alerted them. Best to be on my guard now. She drew her blaster pistol from its holster just in case trouble arose. I really wonder where Dax is... I should have gone back for her. Begin split up like this makes me uneasy.
Just as she was thinking this she heard some rustling outside and then a loud crash as something dropped to the ground behind her. She spun around as quickly as possible raising her pistol and finding the target. When the dust settled she saw in the dim lighting that it was only Dax. She lowered the pistol, and feeling a bit embarrassed looked away and saw out of the corner of her eye that Ku had reacted in a similar way. At least I am not the only one on edge.
"Dax! I am so sorry that we left you behind. Is the ship all locked up? Regardless, glad to see you made it here ok. We had a bit of a tough time making it to this point....... Hope things start to go a bit better," she muttered under her breath.
"We should see if there is anything important at that desk. There might be a directory of rooms that could lead us to where the data might be stored."

The glass from the room seems to be attracted to Dennurek's feet, which he couldn't help to step on. Even with the noise from Dennurek, Dax was more impressive in her display of noise and dexterity from her climb and landing in front of him. From looking up above as he traveled, Dennurek was not as taken back by Dax's entrance - if anything - very impressed. From the ship down the stairs, over the building, and now being here - that was quite the travel to meet us. Dennurek couldn't help but smile when she landed with her exclamation. Everyone else is apologizing and trying to see what took her so long, but she has her reasons - as do I. Let's just carry on.
"Glad you have joined us Dax. Before we all get too carried away with our party reunion, I think there is something behind the second desk. I found a medpac here at the front, but whatever is behind the second desk doesn't seem to be a part of the building as it should be. Let's be cautious."
Dennurek moved past Dax and Ku to the second desk to determine exactly what this something might be.
