Mission One: The Facility

[Kironome]

Map 1-6

Alyaza: Anything that could've been of use has been destroyed. A couple of computer terminals are spread around the area, but all have been blown to pieces or shot with a blaster.

Dennurek: (At location X13) You find the remains of a person. His or her hand is extended out of the rubble, pieces of their flesh cling to the bones. They appeared to have been left for dead, crushed under a fallen durasteel plate. The person is wearing a uniform, blue in color with gold trim. However, the buttons (most likely brass) are missing from the shirt. In his / her other hand, clutched to their chest, is a datapad. It appears to be in working order, although in its current position it is unreachable.

OOC: Just a reminder, be sure to add your current location to the beginning or end of you post so I, and everyone else, knows where you are.

[Ku Tan]

"Well, good to see you here Dax." As Ku was putting away his lightsaber, he felt a lump in his pocket, and pulled out a comlink to his surprise. "Hey guys, guess we could have just tried to call each other, so Dax, I'll be right over here, and I'll remember to check on your well being, don't want you dying on us." Ku joked. He headed over to where Dennurek found something interesting. A datapad...hmmm I could possibly get to it.

Ku concentrated, knowing that it was a fairly easy reach.

[Kironome]

The datapad vibrates as Ku attempts to pull it out from under the wreckage, but it remains in place. The weight of the metal plate and body holds it down.

[Ku Tan]

"God damnit, I felt like I could get it." Ku said while aggravated... "Maybe if I move the plate itself..."

Move object : 4 + 5 = 9

Ku concentrated deeply, the durasteel started shifting but stop and feel back to where it was originally. Ku felt a little worn, and ashamed he couldn't move it. (1 vitality spent)

"Well guys, looks like I can't help in this situation, perhaps Alyaza wants to try to cut the plate or something else..."

[Dennurek]

At the sight of the dead body Dennurek slightly bowed his head and closed his eyes in reverence to the dead, and then watched Ku try to gather the data pad from underneath the steel. No luck there it seems.

"I am unable to think of anything besides all of us possibly trying to lift it together. Though cutting it would create less weight, but would it cut into the data pad? I trust you all to decide. I am well spent."

Dennurek rested for the moment, waiting for the others to decide.

[Ku Tan]

"Hey guys, what Dennurek sounds like smart idea, we should all try to lift the plate together, we seem strong enough." Ku told the group, and started stretching his arms, getting ready for heavy lifting. "I bet this data pad has lots of good information."

[Kironome]

OOC: Alright, everyone make a strength check if you wish to participate.

[Ku Tan]

"Here goes guys!"

"Right! Lets see what I can do to help."

Even with everyone lifting together,the task is nearly impossible. Putting all of your effort into it, your muscles screaming for relief and about to give out, it finally budges. You're able to swivel the plate enough to uncover the upper part of the body. Its clear that this person had died relatively recently. Their face is wrinkled and leathery, although most of it was burned beyond recognition. The prize, however lay before you.

The person's hand is fused to their chest, and it took a bit of tugging and pulling to remove the datapad from their deathly grip. The screen is cracked, but it still comes to life in your hands. The white light from the screen illuminates the immediate din, casting eery shadows behind you.

The datapad itself doesn't contain much information. For the most part it appeared to be a shipping manifest. Because some items were crossed off and some weren't, it would seem that whomever owned the datapad was in the middle of an inspection when the attack happened. Furthermore, while most of the shipment was indeed metal, it wasn't crude metals. Near the end, the manifest outlined several shipments of droids of a designation no one recognizes.

The last retrievable bit of data looks like a correspondence between the facility and whomever the shipment was meant for:

Everything appears to be in order. The latest prototypes are ready for the Republic's use. The shipment is secured. It will leave at 0800 sharp on the morrow. My additional duties have been completed. The audit of this and all nearby Republic robotics facilities went as expected. A few violations have been noted, but will be outlined in my full report. I look forward to discussing my role in the upcoming policy changes.

[Ku Tan]

Droids...now that seems unusual, especially since it says Republic facilities...did the Director lie to us?

"Well...seems like we need to be careful of some weird type of droid, let's hope it's not aggressive." Ku said to the group, and he looked around the room, looks like not much left. 

He readied his lightsaber in his hand, hoping that droids weren't going to attack them as they tried to do things. He headed around the edge of the desk towards the only other hallway out of the room, hoping to see something.

[Dennurek]

I'm glad he didn't ask for which side each of us may be supporting, because I still do not know who may come out in this conflict. Droid prototypes as well, what would they be used for, and if this man has been dead recently - are they still here?

Dennurek moved past the desk to the beginning of the next hallway that Ku was starting to head towards. With blaster pistol readied, Dennurek looked ahead.

Map 1-7

Dennurek and Ku stand staring down the hallway. A few tiles have been torn up, other appear to have been chewed on. The lights continue to flicker, illuminating a gray wall at the far end and an entrance on the right before that.

Dennurek and Ku notice nothing more that what they can see currently. The constant change between light and darkness makes it difficult for the eyes to focus on any one thing too long.

[Ku Tan]

Well, that light is pretty annoying, Ku thought as he stood in the entrance of the hall...he glanced over at Dennurek to see if he saw anything of note, but couldn't tell what he was looking at behind his goggles. Well, might just have to be bold...hope they have my back. 

Ku walked forward into the hallway, trying to see anything past the flashing lights, lightsaber at the ready, hoping to get to the door without noticing anything troubling.

Map 1-8

Ku took a few steps into the hallway before he heard a short high pitched beep!He had walked through a hidden tripwire. Simultaneously two previously unseen doors slide up from the floor and into the ceiling. Two Sith Sentry Droids walked out into the hallway. They took a moment to recognize each other as friend, and then turned toward Ku.

"Enemy Identified...": They said plainly in unison

Ok guys, we'll now enter combat rounds. First everyone needs to roll for Initiative. This is a d20 + your initiative bonus. I'll compare each of your answers with the rolls from the droids and we'll determine turn order.

You'll also note below this text will be a table. This is your enemy reference table. It contains all pertinent information you need in order to make attacks against your enemies. Please refer to my previous thread on posting format for a thorough outline of how to determine combat outcome. No worries if you get confused, I'll be watching closely to help correct any mistakes or answer any questions!

Oh! And I'll allow movement up to your max speed during this initiative round. Normally you wouldn't be able to move until after turn order is established, but for those of you lagging behind, it'll give you a chance to catch up and support Ku and Dennurek .

Ku jumped in response to the droids appearing and ignited his lightsaber.

Dennurek readied his pistol in the dim light and moved forward to be beside Ku Tan. Let's begin shall we.

[Alyaza]

Alyaza was taken back by the dead body. Death always made her uneasy. As the others continued on their way, she stayed back to pay here respects for the dead. 
There came loud noises from ahead and Alyaza ran in the direction that Ku and Dennurek had gone. She skidded to a halt when she saw that they both had their weapons raised. The droids had their weapons pointed in their directions ready to kill everything in their way. Great things are about to get really ugly around here. 
Alyaza drew her blaster pistol opting to keep her distance from the droids in order to study their movements and weaknesses.

wow droids...what a surprise.

Dax readied her quarterstaff.

I will post as needed and of course for the droids on their turn.

Keep in mind we're now in formal combat format. This means one movement, an action and as many free actions as is reasonable (what could you reasonably do in 10 seconds).
The top of your post should be the short breakdown of your turn :

Ku glanced behind him and saw that everyone was ready, Dax had come to join the fight. "I'm glad everyone is here now, let's see what these droids are made of."  He then moved forward, hoping the droids wouldn't shoot.

OOC: So, glad that Dennurek came to support me, but with everyone else here, the blasters can shoot from 5 squares away, so get to cover and let's take them down!

Movement: T-20

Attack action: Attacking droid at T-21. 

    Attack roll: 9 + 3(lightsaber attack) = 12 >= 12 defense, pass!

    Damage roll : JF2iPamxp_2d8 - 2(droid defense) = 10 wound damage to the droid, death!

OOC: Any other enemy would have to check its fortitude from wound damage...however I killed it >.> so doesn't matter!


Ku deftly handled his lightsaber, taking first the right arm, and with a swish the other arm, and then with a last upper cut, cut straight through the head of the droid, leaving it in sputtering parts on the ground. Ku felt some pride that he was able to accomplish something on this mission, but quickly discarded it and braced himself to be ready for the next moment.2d8

[Dennurek]

Movement: Dodge (Droid 2 at U-21)

Dennurek's shot came close to the droid's left arm but swiftly flew past it's mark. After his shot, Dennurek moved to the side, ready to dodge any oncoming shots the now single droid would return.1d20

[Alyaza]

Alyaza tried to shot her pistol at the remaining droid, but even though she had inspected it before the mission had started, the damn thing jammed. 
Damn, I'm going to have to take cover until I can get this stupid thing fixed. 
She turned on her toes as fast as she could and ran for cover behind the wall just around the corner.

Droid 2:

One of the droids falls immediately. Its companion didn't even seem to notice. Turning almost instantly, the droid lashes out with its blaster rifle directly in Ku's face. Ku managed to dodge most of the blow, but the gun still nicked him with an audible clunk. With rifle back in firing position, the droid plants itself more firmly, readying its next attack.

OOC:
A couple of things. First, Hayley, Dylan explained what you did, but I just wanted to mention using the format again. If you choose not to use an attack action or regular action simply list Action: N/A or something similar. I had thought perhaps you'd rolled a low number and then hadn't showed us what that was. Listing your action as suggested above will help minimize miscommunication . Ku managed to kill off one of the droids in one hit. I'll reflect this in one or two ways. First, if I post another map I'll X out any enemies that are killed. Second, in the combat table I'll also cross out any enemies that have fallen.

Great job guys with your first combat round! Feel free to start off round two.

[Ku Tan]

Ku winced when the gun came flying at his face and he wasn't able to dodge it. Gah, another blow to the head...enemies always pick my head!

Ku readied himself to strike back at the droid.

Movement:None

Attack : 14 + 3 = 17 > 12 (hit)

Damage : LXXs1UdSp_2d8 - 2 = 13 wound damage to Droid 2.

Ku retaliated swiftly, driving his lightsaber skillfully from the droids heads to its legs, the sparking halves falling to either side. That's what you get for hitting me, he thought has he regained his composure. He kept his lightsaber engaged for the time being, watching to see if any other droids would appear.2d8

Map 1-10

The hallway returned to complete silence, broken only by the glowing hum of Ku's lightsaber. In the moments of darkness, the super heated metal still glowed orange, and sparks from the droid's circuitry sizzled around their broken forms. Peering through the gloom, it seems the hallway ends some ways off, but before that is an open doorway to your right.

[Ku Tan]

Ku relaxed after waiting a moment, and deactivated his lightsaber, he kept it out just in case.

"Well that didn't go so bad." he commented, but quietly. He wondered why the hallway continued past the door, and attempted to find out.

He tried to sneak past the door.

[Alyaza]

The second droid feel to the ground with a clank, and Alyaza stuck her head around the corner to see that Ku had skillfully destroyed that one as well. Guess I wasn't need for this battle. We are barely into this place though and already two droids. I am sure there are more up ahead. Best to keep on my toes. 
"Nicely done Ku, you will have to share your technique with me one day."

Dax watched the two droids fall. Huh, guess that proves he is a Jedi at least.

"Ku, that was pretty fucking cool." She said before he started down the hall.

She then moved to follow him, and went to peak into the door Ku passed.
